Water Advisory Update

Subject: Important Update on Water Testing and Safety Measures

Dear Residents,

The Cornish Town Council wants to provide you with an update on the recent water testing and the steps we are taking to ensure your safety:

• Monday, January 13: Water testing showed negative results for E. coli but positive for coliform bacteria.
• Tuesday, January 14: Follow-up testing confirmed the water is completely clean.
• Water Sources: All source water tested during these events has consistently been clean.

To ensure the continued safety of our water supply, we have developed a plan to clean our tanks and mainlines with chlorine as a precaution. This plan has been reviewed and approved by the state.

You may notice a chlorine smell late Thursday night or Friday morning as this cleaning process is carried out. Please be assured this is part of our effort to maintain water safety.

Important: The boil order remains in effect at this time. To lift the boil order we are required to have two consecutive tests clean of coliform.  

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our water system.  We will post updates on the town website.
